Marilyn enjoys pulling two oracle cards each morning. She owns several decks created by Doreen Virtue and uses a special system for rotating through the boxes. Created as tools for uplifting oneself, one can relax knowing the thoughts for the day will be inspiring and constructive.

One morning she pulled the card “Stand by Your Commitments”.  The next morning she put the card back in, shuffled and pulled a card– it was the same card again. Third morning, same ritual and pulled Stand by Your Commitments again. This pattern repeated for four days in a row. On the fifth day Marilyn pulled a different card, then for three more days putting in, shuffling and again selected Stand by Your Commitments. The statistical probability of this is now way, way off the charts.

Pretty amazing. What did this mean to her? M knew this was a signal to keep putting love over fear, fulfilling her commitment.   When fear floods our star, she reaches for recalling the potent force of love.

The next week after that miraculous card pulling, Marilyn received notice that her current situation for storing her possessions could not continue: she would need to find other accommodations for her stuff.  Oh my! Our dear one felt a flood of panic and dread, habits of thought and feeling from her past.  The new plan for storage represented a mini-move that would take some weeks.

Standing by her commitments– the process involved allowing the strong feelings, fear, insecurity, etc, to pass through her while soothing herself with wisdom and powerful techniques.

The beliefs behind this fear are outdated. “Hey last time I got this scared there was not really any danger,”  recalled she with a smile.

She could not shift her strong flow of emotions on a dime.  That’s ok. In kindness to herself when she felt strong negative emotion rising up, she employed these tools from her kit:

  • Enjoyed a walk in nature
  • Read a novel
  • Sat and visualized some helpful, protective and loving inner figures.
  • Asked for inspiration for next steps
  • Sought and received support from friends
  • rest
  • focus her mind on what she wanted and off the fear.

As soon as she was able, M proceeded to work her agenda. Each day this dear woman became clearer and more energetic,  bit by bit applying herself to what needed doing.

The move process went relatively well. Great to note that friends with trucks volunteered to assist her, much went her way.  Many folks received some new treasures, charity shops benefited. Space left behind felt more open.  Short term outcome, this woman  stands tall and feels more alive, more able to take life as it comes. She enjoyed seeing that now she had greater strength in living her commitments. Ahhh …..

Do you have a story when you stood by your commitments, moving through your fears in whatever circumstances you found yourself?  What worked for you to make that passage? Please comment. Let’s share our wisdom!
