We invent what we see! Isn’t it good to notice that we can create more fun – even with frustrating circumstances! When we feel lousy viewing some situation or person, let’s recall that we have the power to change how we see that and then shift how we feel. That way we feel good a lot more often and enjoy life more!

Air Filter Reset
Tammy owns a device that filters the air in her upstairs. About every four months there is an indicator light which pops on when the filter needs replacement. Over the time of owning this machine, T has successfully replaced the filter- that part is easy. Often she has some difficulty resetting this indicator light.
It happened this week. Our star slipped in the fresh component and attempted the resetting. Nothing. Try again, Nothing, Try again nothing. Frustration washed through her. GRRR.
This dear woman walked away. A day passed.
When she walked by the device, she had a new thought. Hey What if it is easy to get that indicator light to go off? I recall how good it felt to press firmly with an open paper clip and see that illumination disappear.
“I bet I can do this. It’s easy!” T thought. She grabbed the tool, pressed down and it went out. When she thought it was easy—“magically” it was easy. Very cool! Good to notice!! Let’s hear it for the power of Tammy’s focus!
Finding the Lost Ring
Elydia swam three times a week at an indoor pool. Most often sitting in her car, she took off her jewelry, placed it in a zipper compartment of her purse. Then she left the handbag in the vehicle. If E found her ring still on her hand in the locker room, she put it in a little cloth “wallet” zipper compartment in the swim bag.
One morning our star went to put on her ring standing at her dresser. No ring in the usual dish. Then E went to her purse compartment and then to the swim bag wallet. Not there. Oh Golly, Elydia felt her frustration rise. Feeling the exclamation coming upon her, “Oh NO!” she looked again. And then again. She reached for calm.
Our heroine has been around the block on losing things and finding them. More conscious of her attitude these days, she took a breath and then chose a different ring for the day and left for her busy afternoon.
As E walked out, she called on her strategy for shifting her attitude. First, she began telling herself that it was ok. “If I lost the ring, I am still a very good human. It has some monetary value, but it’s ok to lose. I have felt some sentiment toward this item, and I am sure I am going to be fine living without it. Life is still wonderful and so much is going well.”
Elydia walked with a friend, later met a man for a date. She immersed herself in a juicy enjoyable day!
When she arrived home, this dear woman took a breath. She sat with her purse, put on her glasses, stuck her hand in the zipper compartment and… pulled out the ring first thing. She had checked that pouch five times when upset! That ring was right there, easy to find once her mood was relaxed and open.
Do we lose things just for the rush of good feeling when we find them again? Maybe 🙂 …..
Isn’t it fun to master this art of making it ok to mislay the thing– removing the vibration of harsh self-judgment, the anger, the upset. Living into “I am fine” if something is missing.
Take Away:
How we perceive is shaping our experience, our frustration, our joy and more! Let’s take charge of it bit by bit. Hee Haw!
Why not run some experiments this week and see what you can notice, shift and create? Please comment with your findings of fun!
