How to Lift the Energy

We all have experienced someone reporting on something he or she fears. If we might lean toward fearing that too, it can be hard to listen.  It can be as if we are on a diet and someone expounds on ice cream sundaes; it is an influence making our dieting harder. Below please read about how one listener shifted the atmosphere from negative to more positive energy.

Astara’s Story

Astara sat in a group of women and one dove into talking about all the reasons she feared the coronavirus. That woman’s discussion went on for many minutes. That afternoon A had not arrived in fear, in fact she was feeling balanced about reports on the disease.  After more than ten minutes, she started to feel like she was breathing toxic fumes. The agitated reporting on someone’s fear, sharing that did not really want soothing, felt unhealthy.

In a few more minutes the conversation shifted though the atmosphere remained tense. It was time for the “go round” Astara took her turn. Our star decided to lighten everyone’s mood by sharing juicy, uplifting experiences.

The Good Stuff

That past week one new friend gave her great feedback about her painting exhibit.  That friend stated, “There is so much more to your creations than an average piece.” Going on with praise, “When I entered the exhibit, I felt a wave of positive vibration, even before I noticed the artwork. Your paintings can be used for meditation,  going deeper as we gaze.  Your work creates an atmospher that raises the spirits!”

As Astara shared, she felt better already. A went on, “Last year in my garden this one plant, the hellebore gifted to me, gave one or two blossoms—very pleasant. This year there are over ten blossoms. It is a riot of delight!

Furthermore, the mini-daffodils called tete a tete are blooming in a substantial clump. They came up early and are still shining on, so brightly yellow. Now other daffodils are opening as well in many plot locations, and the hyacinth are starting to show color too. These flowers make me so happy!”

Now Astara felt better still. She beamed with enthusiasm.

At the end of A’s turn, the next woman reported on seeing an opera the day before, a rare and special treat, including a description of the plot. That opera goer was filled with rapture about that show and her weekend.

The one who had felt fear asked if everyone would like to do a round of discussion on what people have inspired us.

All got focused on what is good in our lives.

Take Away Message:

When we tune to what we appreciate, it lifts us up.

Raising our spirits is as simple as sharing what makes us happy.

It is easier when we make a practice of noticing what we value as we go through our day. Then we are ready to go!!

Sounds simple! It is and so powerful.

Please comment and tell us about experiences that worked for you.
