We just don’t know when ordinary life will pop into extraordinary juicy fun. Making a run to the supermarket, we cannot predict what else can happen as we grab our veggies. Read Amelia’s story below:
One Saturday in December Amelia ran into the grocery store for a produce run. Since she eats lots of vegetables, she needs fresh stock often. 🙂
With ease and pleasure our star sailed around picking out organic and fresh items, loaded her cart and headed for check out. Amelia lucked
into a short line at the live cashier– it had only one man and his toddler ahead of her.
Waiting, A admired how fast the scanning system operates these days. The man ahead of her had a big order but in no time all the groceries were scanned and ready to bag.
The attendant asked the fellow if he had a courtesy card for this store. “No,” said he.
Sometimes when Amelia hears that the person before her has no card, she volunteer her own. This time before A could do that the attendant turned to her and asked if she had one.
“Oh sure,” said this dear woman, waking up to the situation. Holding out her card the machine beeped, the screen rolled and new numbers appeared in view.
She chirped, ” Well I’ll get lower gas prices.” ( This store offers reduction in gas when a customer reaches $100 threshold. Additional spending helps her get that bonus.)
The cashier said, “He saved $30.”
“Wow,” Amelia cried, “I had no idea it would be that big a savings!”
The customer looked her in the eye. He said, “Thank you. that’s a Christmas gift”.
She beamed and thought, “Who knew I’d have a magical moment stopping off to do a veggie run? I enjoyed a spike in happiness.” 🙂
