The act of appreciating lifts the spirits. We can focus on the value of those who have provided important and wise leadership for you. When we feel the impulse to review like that, we experience our mood rising. Read this account of how it can go…
Relatively early in life Yolanda met and befriended a woman who was way ahead of her time.
They exchanged at length.
Wise One advised again and again that Y notice what she was thinking. What “shoulds” are woven into the thoughts? What pessimism, worry, and negativity was part of what flowed in her head?
Y was taught how to state her awareness in more positive terms.
Due to the influence of Wise One, Yolanda launched herself on the path of consciousness and growth at the early age of 26. What a difference that contact made!
Now Y adores calling up how she felt engaged, supported, guided and love by Wise One! Such a good fortune! She appreciates it!
On a recent evening Y sat with a small group of women who meet regularly to support one another. Upon hearing about the guiding light figure in our star’s life, one member got excited about having each in the gourp talk about those who have had valuable influence on us.
Allison found a memory and began, “In my freshman year of college several professors wowed me.” She explained how each exposed her to ways of looking at the world that at that time thrilled her.
In a flash A found her mojo in expressing details about how she felt, doors opening in her heart and mind.
The group listened intently, sat rapt– not so much with relating to the specifics of her tale, the classes, their content– but more to how Allison transformed as she remembered and resonated with that piece of past. Allison had lit up!
Here is the punch line of this post: Allison focused on something that she loved and her spirits shot up.
Y exclaimed,”Look at how great you feel! You can tell this or another deeply felt story and raise your spirits anytime at all. Isn’t that an awesome power!”
It’s all about on what we focus. So valuable to realize.
Yolanda basked in a guiding light figure that meant so much to her. As Allison held in her mind what she loved, she felt delight.
