More “Good” Than We Know

We recall the story from times past of the farmer whose son broke his leg at harvest time. The farmer felt so discouraged and cursed his bad luck.

Then, shortly afterwards, the ruling army rides up to his home seeking maturing sons to fight in the war with enemy forces. The farmer’s son could not be drafted due to his injury. So, the son is left safely at home.

Sometimes, one event feels disappointing and then through an amazing serendipity (divine grace?) all goes well after all. We get pay offs from maintaining our emotional balance and trusting in Forces of Good.

Netri loved arts and crafts and enjoyed viewing them. N got excited about participating in the artisan studio tour of her geographic area.

Last year our star had enjoyed going with a special female friend, Dena, who organized a day’s trip and drove. N reached out to Dena to ask if she might go with her for this year’s tour. In the first conversation it sounded like, no, this time D had conflicting activities. Then as the event was to start soon, this protagonist reached out and new plans were afoot. They chatted briefly and determined D was now free to do this tour, they set the hour to meet. Netra felt delighted and looked forward to a Sunday drive together.

On Saturday morning, D called N to ask her where she was and that D had been waiting for her. N said, “Oh my, I thought we were going Sunday.” D responded, “No I knew I was freed up to go on Saturday.”  N cried, “Oh I am so sorry for the confusion. Please go out and see the studios. I have a conflict on Saturday morning.”

N realized then that somehow in the planning conversations she and Dena had never stated the day of the rendezvous clearly. Oh my. N felt disappointed. Not only was she stimulated by the event, she valued the companionship of traveling together all day.

Carrying On

On Saturday, Netri did not go down the path of blaming anyone. Instead, she appreciated the uplift in her body and mind from the yoga class she attended. N had a phone call with a distant friend scheduled and enjoyed the catch up including an adventure in healing from a broken hip and replacement.

She focused on looking for good.

Unexpected Rendezvous

On Sunday Netri decided she would go out and view a few artisan studios locally. Our heroine walked in the door to this lovely pottery and gift shop and there was Dena. Surprise!

Dena had attended church and then had headed out to a day of visiting creators of crafts. N asked “Could we figure out how to do this together?”

Soon they determined where to park and leave one car for independent activity at the end of the afternoon.

The two had a good day. They popped in at about 9 studios. Netri soaked up the enjoyment, marveling at her good fortune.

The Universe had granted her wish in such an unexpected way.  This dear woman flowed with gratitude and awe!

Good flows to us when we actively connect with Good.

What tales can you share that demonstrates how this works for you? We love giving and receiving inspiration.
