“We can walk through the darkest night with the radiant conviction that all things work together for the good. ” — Martin Luther King
What a relief to know that Good Abounds and we need only open ourselves to it! All is Well!
We feel it; then in the way of things it is beamed outward.
So much power as we live into this noticing the Good! Yet more juice to consciously reflect it back to one another.
A few years ago the opening quotation caught my attention. A few hours after discovering it, I gave Emily a Jin Shin Jyutsu treatment.
At that time a traumatic event had occurred in Paris, and Emily and her husband had been deeply affected.
Processing, her husband spoke about goodness and how easily he can reach for it. He appreciated his training in Catholicism and how well it served him in knowing good.
Emily wanted to contribute to her husband’s recovery, to soothe him in some way.
Here is what came to me to suggest: how about is she compiled a list of the many ways she sees Good in her husband.
Emily loved this idea and planned to get busy. Within a few days of this session the couple would be taking a long trip together. “What a great opportunity,” declared she. ” It will be perfect for sharing this!”
Before our heroine departed my office, she delighted in how good she felt in body and spirit. Filled with enthusiasm, she felt eager to begin her “assignment.”
Hey this conversation had great pay off for me: I felt better too!
I was struck with this realization: Good came from the contrast of awful international news. A great ripple effect–from the contrast of horrific comes a reaching for healing, soothing and uplifting!
In response to tragedy, a man thinks about goodness of Catholics, somehow I hear about it and shift perspective to how “all things work together for the good.”
Relish noticing: we experience what we don’t want, then we turn to what we do want. We unify and we are activated to help create a better world.
We can use our power when we perceive the Good around us. We magnify it as we mirror it to one another.
