When I created this piece, I reached a new level of expression. This painting feels like a spiritual self portrait.  Do you feel happy from looking at it? Many viewers have. In April 2009 I had an opening of a show of paintings on the Charlottesville Downtown Pedestrian Mall and, for that show I used this image as the postcard announcement. I personally  handed out most of 200 copies and watched the responses—the vast majority responded with a smile.

This piece succeeds in communicating joy in adventuring through life. Even the dark elements conspire to assist us on our path.  In opening myself to the expression of this energetic force, I felt I had entered the castle.
